KARACHI: A 26-year-old man died in the Clifton area as he fell from a three-storey building’s elevator shaft on Wednesday, police said.
Sajjad Raza, café chain Espresso’s delivery boy, was the resident of Malir. He arrived at the Columbus Tower at 8:30pm, but didn’t return to the café by 10:30pm. Café staff got furious after not getting any response of phone calls, and went to investigate the building where they found his motorbike parked outside the building, police said.
The customer confirmed that he had received his order on the third floor of the building by 8:30pm. Raza’s body was found in the elevator shaft around 12pm on Thursday.
According to police, Raza walked in when the elevator doors opened and fell to his death as there was no lift in place. “The police will proceed as per law if the employer or relatives filed a complaint of negligence,” said Senior Superintendent Police South Saqib Ismail Memon.
