KARACHI – A Bengal tiger has died at Karachi Zoo, an official of the city’s metropolitan corporation (KMC) announced on Friday.
Karachi Administrator Laeeq Ahmad, upon receipt of information, visited the zoo and ascertained the cause of death of the tiger. The veterinary doctors informed that it had a complete medical checkup last week. It was pointed out that the animal aged 16 years had died because of kidney failure. The natural age of a tiger is stated to be 18 years.
He said that the animals at the zoo must be provided with natural environment. He also undertook a meticulous visit of the zoo and inquired about the health condition of animals and birds.
