SHIKARPUR: Parents of Fazila Sarki aged 7, kidnapped on March 23, 2007 from village Garhi Hassan Sarki, Tehsil Thul, District Jacobabad Sindh, appeal for recovery of their daughter.
Her father Abdul Razzaq Sarki told Daily Times that after her kidnapping, police arrested Qadir Bakhsh Sarki, Karim Bakhsh Sarki, Allah Warrayo Sarki & Baboo Sarki who admitted selling Fazila to criminal Budho Sarki. When elders intervened and those arrested took oath to bring girl back within two days, police released them. Razzaq Sarki got call from Budho Sarki demanding Rs50,000/= as ransom. He said Budho Sarki sold her daughter to another gang of criminals for not paying ransom.
In 2010, Supreme Court of Pakistan, taking suo moto notice, ordered police to submit progress report in Fazila Sarki’s in 15 days. But after six years, Jacobabad police still looking for leads.
Her parents are on hunger strike outside Thull Press Club for over a month. The case was handed over to Anti Violent Crime Cell Karachi which conducted search operations in villages near Karampur & Garhi Tegho areas but could not arrest any accused nor recovered the girl.
In February, 2016, Shikarpur police launched operation assisted by large police contingent from Jacobabad, Larkana, Kandho-kot districts and special commandos from Karachi under supervision of SSP Nasir Aftab at village Garhi Tego. In exchange of fire, constable Ali Gul Mahar embraced martyrdom.
Human rights organizations, civil society members are holding rallies to put pressure on government for her recovery. Razzaq Sarki appealed to the Supreme Court, IG Sindh Police, DG Rangers and other authorities to recover his daughter.
