LAHORE: Federal Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain said on Sunday that dictatorship could never be an alternative to democracy and the whole nation supports democracy and democratic institutions in Pakistan.
“All problems are being solved with consensus,” he told reporters after addressing inaugural ceremony of a road at Sharaqpur. He also said that the government had officially been decided to observe July 19 as Kashmir Accession Day and July 20 as the ‘Black Day,’ against Indian brutalities in the disputed state.
A decision in this regard was made in the recent federal cabinet meeting, presided over by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The minister said that the Pakistan Muslim League-N would hold rallies across Pakistan to express solidarity with Kashmiris. The killing of innocent people and violation of human rights in the disputed state should be stopped, he said.
Addressing the ceremony, Tanveer said that progress and prosperity were the focus of the PML-N politics, and there was no example of the development which took place during the last three years in Pakistan. He also said that billions of rupees had been spent on development works in NA-131 and NA-132.
He said that mega projects had been completed in Muridke, Narang Mandi, Ferozwala and Sharaqpur. These projects include water filtration plants, provision of Sui-gas and electricity, construction of new schools and colleges, up-gradation of tehsil headquarters hospitals and construction of new roads.
He said that now the people of Sharaqpur would be given a gift of a motorway from Lahore to Karachi and soon Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would inaugurate work on it.
